A Quick Money-Saving Tip!

I wanted to give you guys a tip right at the beginning because sometimes it can get a little pricey to make all these different treats and package them up. Often it is cheaper than purchasing a gift, but I want to tell you how to make it even less expensive.

Focus on treats that all have similar ingredients.
If you don’t want to go to the grocery store and buy 35 to 50 different items, pick recipes where the base ingredients overlap. If pretzels are a main ingredient in a lot of them, you only have to buy one bag! The end results look completely different, and they’ll never know!

1. Nutella Balls (The “Buckeye” Twist)

We’re gonna make some Nutella Balls! Now, if you’re really adventurous, you can make your own hazelnut spread, but we are just gonna use the store-brand version. It is a little cheaper, so we’re going with that option.

These have a creamy center with a little bit of crunch from graham crackers, which I think really takes it over the top. It’s very rich and very sweet, so you only need one (or two!).

Yields: Approx. 12-17 balls

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) Butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (or generic hazelnut spread)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup Graham crackers, crushed (honey or cinnamon variety)
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 6 oz Semi-sweet chocolate chips (for dipping)
  • 2 tsp Coconut oil (for melting)

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and Nutella in a mixer until light and fluffy (a few minutes).
  2. Add vanilla, powdered sugar, and 1/2 cup of crushed graham crackers. Mix well.
  3. If the mixture is too sticky, add more crushed graham crackers until you can handle the dough.
  4. Scoop (about 1 tbsp each), roll into balls, and place on a parchment-lined sheet. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  6. Dip the chilled balls into the chocolate, tap off excess, and return to the baking sheet. Chill until set.

2. Dark Chocolate Peppermint Salted Pretzels

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m actually a huge fan of dark chocolate. So these are perfect for me! It has all the flavors that you’re looking for because it tastes like Christmas (thanks to the peppermint), the dark chocolate adds a touch of sweetness, and then you get the saltiness from the pretzels.

Pro Tip: If you aren’t a fan of dark chocolate, just swap it for milk chocolate. But definitely add a tiny sprinkle of extra sea salt right after dipping—it pairs so well!

Ingredients

  • 3 oz Dark chocolate bar (or chips)
  • 1 tsp Coconut oil
  • 1/8 tsp Peppermint extract (it is potent, use sparingly!)
  • 2 cups Mini pretzels (approx.)
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate and coconut oil in 30-second intervals.
  2. Stir in the peppermint extract. Taste test a pretzel to ensure the mint isn’t overpowering.
  3. Dip pretzels using a fork or skewer, tap off excess, and lay on parchment paper.
  4. Sprinkle immediately with sea salt. Refrigerate to harden.

3. Gingersnap Truffles

If you are not a fan of ginger, you probably won’t like these, but I love ginger. It tastes like Thanksgiving and Christmas rolled into one little bite.

we can use white chocolate for the coating just to change things up so your treat box has some different colors going on.

Yields: Approx. 15-20 truffles

Ingredients

  • 275g (approx. 3 cups) Gingersnap cookies
  • 4 oz Cream cheese, softened (half a standard block)
  • 8 oz White chocolate chips
  • 1.5 tbsp Coconut oil
  • Optional: Extra crushed gingersnaps for topping

Instructions

  1. Pulse gingersnaps in a food processor until fine crumbs.
  2. Mix crumbs with softened cream cheese until fully combined (you can use the processor or a mixer).
  3. Scoop and mash the dough in your hands to form balls (you have to press them firmly so they stick).
  4. Freeze for 10 minutes.
  5. Melt white chocolate and coconut oil in 30-second intervals.
  6. Dip cold truffles into white chocolate. Top with a pinch of gingersnap crumbs while wet.
  7. Keep refrigerated.

4. Pistachio and Pomegranate Bark (Healthy-ish!)

This is probably the cleanest dessert out of the bunch. It uses a base of dates and pistachios, topped with a homemade chocolate mixture using cocoa powder, coconut oil, and maple syrup.

The pomegranate seeds make it look like jewels—it just looks like Christmas! Just remember, these get a little soft if they sit out too long, so keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

Ingredients

  • Base: 1/2 cup pitted dates + 1/2 cup shelled pistachios + pinch of salt.
  • Chocolate Topping: 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/3 cup melted coconut oil, 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1/2 tsp vanilla, pinch of salt, dash of cayenne pepper.
  • Garnish: 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds + crushed pistachios.

Instructions

  1. Base: Process dates, pistachios, and salt until it holds together when pressed. Press firmly into a parchment-lined dish. Freeze.
  2. Topping: Whisk together cocoa, melted oil, syrup, vanilla, salt, and cayenne until smooth. Fold in half of the pomegranate seeds.
  3. Pour over the base. Top with remaining pomegranate seeds and crushed pistachios.
  4. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before slicing. Keep chilled!

5. Chocolate Pretzel Clusters

These are super, super easy to make. It’s just chocolate, pretzels, and sea salt. I like to make these in mini baking cups (muffin liners) because they look excellent inside a little gift tin and don’t stick to everything else. They are dangerously snackable—they’ll be eaten up within the first 10 minutes of a party!

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp Coconut oil
  • 1 cup Crushed pretzels (leave some chunks!)
  • Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate and coconut oil.
  2. Stir in crushed pretzels until coated.
  3. Spoon into mini muffin liners or make “haystacks” on parchment paper.
  4. Sprinkle with sea salt and chill for 10-15 minutes.
